Anything that exhibits motion in a circular path at a constant rate (or constant angular velocity) is exhibiting uniform circular motion.
Tie something onto a piece of string a metre long and make it go around in circles. Play with it for a while; make it go faster, slower, shorten the string and really feel what it does to your hand as it goes around.
What are all of the variables here? What can you change? What words can you use to describe what is happening to the object at the end of the string?
Once you have done this go to the Hyperphysics web site and look at their circular motion pages. Read through the links as far as you can in preparation for your next class.
Then look at this page on YouTube. Watch it carefully (it if five minutes long and shows the same thing over and over) there is a lot to look at an notice. Sit back from the screen though, I have known students to hypnotize themselves watching this! Again, this is preparation for your next class
